Schotia Game Reserve is a standout wildlife destination in the Eastern Cape, known for being the oldest private game reserve in the province. Situated just a short drive from Port Elizabeth (Gqeberha) and bordering the famous Addo Elephant National Park, it offers a deeply authentic, down-to-earth safari experience. Today, it is one of the most densely stocked reserves in Africa, which means your chances of having incredible, close-up wildlife encounters are very high.
Experience one of South Africa’s premier private game reserves with an open safari vehicle, traditional braai lunch, and professional guide. Guests are picked up around 7 a.m. and transferred to Schotia Private Game Reserve. At 8:00 meet your guide for a short briefing before boarding the open safari vehicle. Then, a morning game drive to spot lions, elephants, giraffes, buffalo, and more. At 12:30, enjoy a traditional South African braai lunch, with vegetarian options available. Afternoon safari continues through different areas of the reserve. With excellent photographic opportunities. refreshments are served, and the game drive concludes by 5:30. Guests checking out the same day may follow the guide in their own vehicle to Schotia, and depart directly afterwards. This gives flexibility to continue along the Garden Route to Cape Town, go to the airport for a flight, or other destinations. A comfortable, all-inclusive day with unforgettable wildlife encounters.
